F.A.Q.

F.A.Q.

What kind of photos can be used to paint?

Our artists are professionals and can paint from any picture, providing all of the details are clear and easily visible. Photos should be well taken, not grainy, over exposed or under exposed. Our artists can change anything on the photo: add smile, change background, etc. We can for example take several portrait photos and paint a group. If you have any doubts as to the quality of an image please feel free to contact WahooArt.com about it. This way we can give you our opinion. The photograph must make the person or object that is going to be painted look good.

Photo portrait

When asking WahooArt.com to paint a custom portrait for you, make sure that the face in the photo is placed at the same angle as you want it to be in the painting. Do the same for all the faces to be painted in the painting, even if these faces are on different photographs. If you plan on customizing an art reproduction and placing your own face or that of a loved one on the famous "La Joconde" you must angle the persons head in the same direction as the one in the original portrait.

Mockup

Complex paintings involving the integration of more than one person, the addition of smiles, changes of background, etc. We at WahooArt.com will first create a digital mockup and send it to you for your approval, before starting on the handmade oil painting.

How do I Get My Photos to You?

Just follow the online guidelines explained to upload your photograph(s). The website will give you explicit instructions on how to upload your photograph(s), allowing us to get it immediately. Understand that these photos need to be of digital quality. This way the artist can get a very clear image of what the person or object looks like.

What guarantee do I get?

We guarantee all of our work. When you order a painting you receive a money back guarantee. Within 20 days of receiving your order an image of the painting is sent to you asking for your approval. At this time you can decide if the painting is what you expect or whether there are any changes that need to be made. We ask that you email us with your approval within 24 hours of having received the email so we can continue with our work.

How much will a portrait cost?

The price will fluctuate depending on the type of painting you want and size you need. However, our goal is to make custom made oil paintings affordable for everyone. Our artists are professionals with years of experience and this gives you a gorgeous piece of artwork at a truly affordable price. For more information on prices visit our pricing guide.

Confirmation

Once we receive your commission and your painting is finished, we contact you and ask you to review it to make sure you like it. Most of our clients are happy with the online images they see in their first preview of the painting. But it is perfectly acceptable to make suggestions and we will be more than happy to make the modifications.

What format do I need to send my images in to you?

Please submit your photos as jpeg, bmp or tiff files. Remember that the clearer an image will be the better a painter will be able to render the little nuances and special characteristics of the person or object.

Can I have a painting made from more than one image?

Yes, you can send more than one photograph with different people or objects in each image and we can paint them together in one painting. Just be sure to send explicit instructions or talk with one of our customer service agents explaining what your needs are.. There is no need to send us more than 2 images of the same person. If you want to combine objects or people in the portrait then you may need to send up to 5 images.

Special Request

If you have special requests or want something included in the painting that is not easily seen in the photographs, you can specify these special instructions in the text box made available specifically for this purpose. You can also email or call us directly with your additional information.

What Style can you paint the portrait or photo in?

Because we have many different painters on staff, we can paint your custom photograph in any style you desire. The artist given the commission will be an expert painter in the style you choose.

How will my painting be shipped?

Once the painting is finished we roll it in a protective cardboard tube for shipping, unless you have purchased special framing and stretching from us as well. In this case the painting and frame will be packaged protectively in cardboard and bubble wrap so it is not damaged. Our preferred shipping method is through DHL. After delivering it to the shipper we send you a tracking code and a link which allows you to track the shipment.

Framed paintings are sent in our special kit by DHL. The kit includes the painting, canvas, frame and all necessary assembly tools. Assembly is easy and takes less than 30 minutes to complete.

Payment Methods

We accept PayPal as the preferred method of payment. PayPal allows anyone to pay securely using their debit or credit card.

Additional Questions?

If you have additional questions that are not answered on this page, please feel free to contact us at contact@WahooArt.com . A customer service representative will get back with you within 24 hours.

Do you use computer printing techniques?

No, our paintings are 100% hand painted by an experienced artist with many paintings hours of practice in the style or master art reproduction you want. Nothing is computer generated or printed. This is noticeable when you receive the painting and see every oil brush stroke.
