The Painting Process

Our Meticulous Painting Process, We Pay Attention to All Details!

The famous artist Cy Twombly said it correctly when he stated: "When I work, I work very fast, but preparing to work can take any length of time." This holds very true for art reproduction work.

Why is it Important?

Astounding and beautiful oil paintings always add that touch of elegance to any environment. This is because they are truly beautiful pieces of work, which have taken hours to finish. A Good painting always defines the true beauty of a room and this is just one of the reasons art connoisseurs spend their life collecting and displaying oil paintings. However, not everyone can afford an original masterpiece, but this does not mean they have to live without art. Authentically hand reproduced artwork made at WahooArt.com pleases everyone, even those with discerning taste at a price everyone can afford.

We Love Our Work!

This does not mean that a great deal of care hasn’t gone into the painting of every hand painted reproduction. Quite to the contrary, in many cases even more care is given to the reproduction than painters put into their original artwork. The reason this is so, is because all reproductions are carefully represented by a certain artist. He carefully analyzes the original masterpiece over and over again, getting every brush stroke exactly perfect. The artist should also try the best they can to put themselves in a similar mood as the original artist was in, to really capture the feeling behind the art.

Art Reproduction is Difficult!

The process of a good oil painting reproduction can be even more challenging and complicated than that of producing an original piece of artwork. That is because the reproduction must be exactly the same as the original piece of work and it takes a great deal of artistic ability to do this. Not only do the colors have to be exact, the brush strokes must be the same as well, in order to create the same effect as the original piece. Color match is the most important aspect. This is especially true if you are copying the original of a famed artist. An art collector will be able to tell the difference in the colors right away, and this is not something you want.

The Painting Process

The painting process at WahooArt.com begins with the painter stretching and preparing the canvas surface. He must then apply a thin layer of gesso to protect the canvas from the acidic properties in the paints. Every single detail is paid attention to when a painting begins. The artist starts by choosing a quality made canvas and applying the gesso.

Once he has finished doing this, he then begins to sketch the masterpiece he is reproducing. This in itself is a long process requiring a great deal of care. Once he finished the initial sketch, he begins the actual under-painting, which shows him where the lighter and darker tones of the painting go. This under-painting must then go through a drying process before it can be painted again.

After the drying process for the under-painting completes the painter continues to fill in the painting detail, adding more depth and style. When the painting is finished a digital image is sent to you for your revision and it is left to go through its drying stage. Before being packaged for delivered it is thoroughly inspected, then packed carefully and shipped carefully. Shipping costs are not charged to the client and the painting is delivered directly to your doorstep.

Because our company pays no gallery fees, there are no middle men or expensive gallery commissions to pay the paintings are sold for nominal fees. You get the painting you ordered directly from our studio facilities.

In the entire process no shortcuts or taken, the most accurate and detailed paintings are done. We ensure that every customer is fully satisfied and take pride in our work.

The painting process is a detailed one. Everything has to be done exactly right! The canvas must be primed and stretched then placed on the studio easel for easier access.

This is why the delivery time for each painting is extensive and long. But even so, for as much work as the finalized product takes and the wait times needed for drying the painting process is a short one, taking only 3 weeks for delivery to your door. This time frame is what it takes a painting to complete its stages, and get that deep multi layered texture that makes it so special. Each layer of paint must dry for a few days before another is added. Depending on the painting that is chosen, it could have between 5 to 10 layers of paint.
