The Nazca culture was an archaeological culture that flourished from around 100 BC to 800 AD along the southern coast of Peru in the river valleys of the Rio Grande de Nazca drainage and the Ica Valley. It was influenced by the preceding Paracas culture and is known for its ceramics, textiles, and geoglyphs, including the famous Nazca Lines and underground aqueducts known as puquios. The Nazca culture is named after the city of Nazca, which is the capital of the Nazca Province in the Ica Region of Peru. |
